FC Dallas vs. NYCFC – Game Preview

FC Dallas host MLS expansion side New York City FC for an East-meets-West late game of this Major League Soccer 2015 season.

Hosts FC Dallas are considered to be the stronger of the teams, ranked third in the MLS Western Conference with 44 points (13-8-5).

Dallas celebrated an impressive 0-3 win at Columbus Crew last Sunday, with the previous 2-0 home win over Real Salt Lake giving Dallas a 2-game winning run.  In their last match against Columbus, FC Dallas started with 5 home-grown players – the most in MLS history.

Visitors New York City FC have been struggling to find their form this season, despite a star-spangled squad of internationally-acclaimed soccer brand names.  NYCFC is ranked ninth in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference, with 28 points (7-13-7).

New York’s last home game resulted in a 1-2 loss to the same Columbus Crew SC.  This Loss marks NYCFC’s 3-game winless run.

It will be interesting to see how the hosts Dallas’s home-grown, younger squad will perform against the experienced, veteran international squad from New York.
