D.C. United vs. Chicago Fire – Game Preview
Sunday, October 18th, 2 p.m. ET. RFK Stadium, Washington, D.C.
Two sides from Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference face off today at one of the last games this MLS 2015 season. There is no playoff race here, as the post season of both teams is already determined, with D.C. having already secured a playoff position, and Chicago Fire forgone any playoff hopes already.
Hosts D.C. United are ranked fifth in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference (14-12-6), tied with Montreal Impact at 48 points.
D.C. United are coming well rested, with their last game taking place on October 2nd. A 2-1 home win against NYCFC, which put to an end a 6-game winless streak.
Visitors Chicago Fire are last at the MLS East with 30 points (8-18-6).
Chicago is coming on the back of a 3-1 home win over New England Revolution, which snaps their 5-game losing run. Fire are yet to win on the road this MLS season, will tonight put an end to their road-losing run?
This will be the third meeting between the teams this Major League Soccer season, with D.C. United winning both of the previous matches, 1-0 at Toyota Park in June 3rd, followed by a 3-1 at RFK Stadium in June 24th.
