New England Revolution vs. Montreal Impact – Game Preview
Saturday, Oct. 17th, 7:30 p.m. ET. Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA.
Yet another huge match this weekend, adding to the continuous excitement to the last run of Major League Soccer’s 2015 regular season.
By kickoff time at Foxborough tonight, both teams may have already secured MLS playoff positions based on the earlier match of Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew SC. If both Rev and Impact are in the playoffs, they will play tonight with great momentum.
MLS playoff prospects are somewhat tighter for Montreal after Orlando City’s win last night, for New England a draw will be enough. Therefore tonight can also be a fierce battle for the playoffs. Either way, a great game of Major League soccer is expected tonight.
Hosts New Revolution are ranked fourth in Major league Soccer’s Western Conference (13-11-8) and tied with Columbus Crew SC at 47 points. The Revs last 3-1 loss at Chicago Fire extends their winless run to three matches.
Montreal Impact are sixth in the MLS East with 45 points (13-13-6). The Impact’s 1-0 win at Colorado Rapids last weekend cuts their two-game losing run.
This is the third meeting for the teams this season, with a 0-0 draw in March, and a 3-0 win to Montreal in September.
