Friday, October 2nd, RFK Stadium, Washington, D.C. 7:00 p.m. ET

Along the line of these two teams’ 2015 MLS season, no matter how this game will end, the result is bound to be a surprise.

Hosts D.C. United have started the season as one of the strongest contenders in Major League Soccer.  However lately the team has been hitting a rough patch, with its current winless streak extended to six games.

D.C. is now ranked fourth in the MLS Eastern Conference, with 45 points (13-12-6).  It is coming from a 2-0 loss at Montreal Impact this past Saturday.

NYCFC on the other hand, had its fair share of trouble for most if its inaugural MLS season, but currently seemed to have find its form.  With its soccer-star squad of designated players starting to work together as a team.

New York City FC seems to be on the up, coming on the back of a 2-1 win at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.  This extends NYFCF’s winning streak to three consecutive victories – the longest in the team’s brief history.

NYCFC is ranked eighth in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference with 37 points (10-14-7).  Although a slim chance with three games remaining in the regular MLS season, New York remains hopeful about clinching a place in the playoffs.

The teams are meeting for the second time in their history, which is the first visitor’s first at RFK stadium.  The previous match at Yankee Stadium ended with a 3-1 victory to the hosts form New York.
