LA Galaxy vs. Montreal Impact – Game Preview

Obviously there is a lot more to this soccer match than the meeting of two legends from the English Premier League, but there is a lot of anticipation for the first MLS faceoff between ex. Liverpool FC Steven Gerrard who now plays for LA Galaxy, and ex. Chelsea FC Didier Drogba who just joined Montreal Impact.

However as said, there is a lot more excitement to be anticipated from this match.

Hosts LA Galaxy are currently second in the MLS Western Conference (13-8-7), with 46 points, trailing 2 points behind West leaders Vancouver Whitecaps.

Galaxy’s recent 1-0 loss at San Jose Earthquakes put an end to their 4-game winning streak.

Visitors Montreal Impact are ranked sixth in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference (9-11-4) with 31 points.

Didier Drogba’s hat trick give Montreal a 4-3 home win against Chicago Fire in their last match, cutting the Impact’s a 4-game winless run.

This is the first meeting between the two sides this MLS season.  The teams met one time last year, and reached a 2-2 draw.
